Pineapple Raita

Preparation time:-  5-7 minutes                                   Cooking Time:- 3 minutes

Ingredients

  1. Yogurt- 1 cup
  2. Fresh Pineapple- 1/2 cup chopped
  3. Pineapple Puree- 1/3 cup
  4. Sugar- 1 tablespoon
  5. Salt- 1/2 teaspoon or as required
  6. Black Salt- 1/3 teaspoon
  7. Roasted Cumin powder- 1/2 teaspoon

 

Method

 

Heat a small frypan, add sugar with 1 teaspoon of water. Stir it well.

Add pureed pineapple and then chopped pineapple and cook it for 2-3 minutes.

When it starts to bubble, switch off the heat and let it cool down for sometime.

[ I cooked pineapple with sugar because I like to bit sweet and soft pieces in raita.  If you want crunchy pieces, then you can add directly to the yogurt without cooking]

In a while, add thick yogurt into a bowl and whisk it well. Add salt, black salt and roasted cumin powder and whisk it until all ingredients are well combined.

Add the sautéed pineapple to the yogurt and mix everything well. Refrigerate it for sometime before serving.

Serve chilled and eat fresh. Do not keep it for long else it will give a bitter taste.
