Moist chocolate cake with chocolate ganache

This chocolate cake is the most demanded one in my family and in particular, is my son’s favourite. For making this moist chocolate cake you don’t need any fancy baking tools. Just a bowl and a whisk or a spatula and of course the ingredients and you will be delighted by the final outcome.

Ingredients for cake

  • Cake flour (self-raising flour)- 1 and a half cups
  • Cocoa powder-1 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup- Half white sugar+brown sugar 
  • Eggs- 3
  • Milk-1 cup
  • Yogurt- 1 tablespoon
  • Water- 2/3 cup
  • Baking powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Salt- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dark chocolate- 6-8 pieces
  • Instant coffee powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla essence (Optional)- few drops
  • Vegetable oil- 1/4 cup

Ingredients for Ganache

  • Full cream- 150 gms
  • Dark chocolate- 150 gms
  • Butter- 1 teaspoon
  • sprinkles for decoration

Method/ Preparations

 

1. make a butter milk

In a glass of milk, add yogurt then mix it well. Leave it aside for 5 minutes

2.make hot chocolate-coffee mixture

Place a saucepan over low heat, add water then put coffee powder and chocolate pieces in it. Let it melt completely. Keep stirring the mixture and switch off the gas.

3.Cake batter

In a mixing bowl place a sieve over it. Now add flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder and salt in it. Sieve everything well and remove the lumps.

Now add the butter milk, eggs and hot coffee-chocolate mixture in the flour. Whisk everything well until it’s a nice smooth mixture.

4. Bake the cake

Now pour the cake batter into the baking dish and bake it for 30 minutes at 170-degree Celsius. 

Once the cake is baked switch off the oven and take it out and let it cool down.

5. Make the ganache

Heat a saucepan over medium heat and pour the cream. Let it boil and once it started bubbling switch off the gas. Add in chopped chocolates and butter in it. let it sit for a minute.

After 1 minute whisk it until it’s creamy and shiny. Ganache is ready and now let it leave like that for a minute and cool down little.

6. Final decoration

Take the cake and pour the ganache over it and spread it evenly. Decorate it with sprinkles and keep it in the refrigerator for sometime before slicing. Enjoy this moist chocolate cake anytime.
