Honey Oats Bread (Eggless)

Honey oats bread is a very healthy, delicious and mildly sweet bread topped with rolled oats. Once you try this, you will always prefer your homemade bread over the store bought ones.

Ingredients

  • Oats- 1 cup + 1 tablespoon
  • Bread flour (Self Raising Flour)- 2 cups
  • Milk- 1/2 cup
  • Water- 1/2 cup
  • Butter- 2 cubes (50 gms approx)
  • Honey- 2 tablespoons
  • Dry Yeast sachet- 1 (11 gm) 1.5 tablespoons
  • Sugar- 2 teaspoon
  • Salt- 1 teaspoon

 

Method

 

In a mixing bowl add 1/2 cup of luke warm milk followed by 1/2 cup of hot water.

Add butter, oats, sugar and salt to it. Mix it until butter dissolved completely.

Add honey and mix it well. Now add bread flour and yeast to it and mix it with a spoon or spatula until it form a nice smooth dough. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it sit for 1 hour.

After an hour, punch down the dough and place it on floured surface and knead it well. Make it in a smooth rectangle shape and put it in a floured loaf pan.

Brush the top with milk and spread some oats over the top. Cover it again and let sit it for an hour.

Now bake it for 40 minutes in a preheated oven at 200ºc. If the outer layer is too brown then you can cover it with an aluminum foil and bake it further. Make sure that you bake it for exact 40 minutes.

Take out from the oven and let it cool completely before cutting.
