Eggless rose flavored cookies

Rose flavoured eggless cookie. This cookie is very easy to make and loved by kids and adults.

Ingredients

  • Plain flour (Maida)- 2 cups
  • Custard Powder-2 tablespoons
  • Sugar- 1/2 cup
  • Butter- 1/2 cup (125 gm)
  • Rose syrup- 1 teaspoon (any brand)
  • Milk- 1/2 cup more or less as required
  • Chopped nuts- 2 tablespoons (8-10 pieces of Cashews, Almonds and Pistachios)
  • Baking powder- 1/2  teaspoon
  • Cardamom powder- 1/3 teaspoon
  • Salt- 1 pinch

 

Method

 

In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients (Maida, baking soda, salt, cardamom powder and custard powder). Now sieve this with a fine strainer so that no lumps are formed.

In a separate bowl add softened butter and sugar. Creme together until it’s soft and light in colour. Now add rose syrup and mix it well with the butter mixture.

Now slowly add sieved flour to the mixture in two batches and mix it well with a spatula. Add half of the chopped nuts and mix it. Now slowly add milk and knead it into a soft dough.

Cookie dough is ready. Now divide it into two equal parts and roll it into a long smooth shape. Cover it with a cling wrap and refrigerate it for an hour until it is firm.

Take out from the fridge and preheat your oven at 170degree Celsius. Cut them into thin cookies and place it on a baking tray. Brush the cookies with milk and butter mixture on top and place some chopped nuts.

Bake it for 15-20 minutes at 170 degrees until light golden brown in colour. Take out from the oven and let it cool completely.

Store it in air tight container and enjoy these delicious cookies anytime.
