Chicken pakoda is chicken fritters made of boneless chicken with onions, chickpea flour and rice flour which gives them a nice crunchiness. I am sharing simple and easy recipe of chicken pakoda so you can enjoy this in a rainy evening with a cup of tea.
Ingredients
- Boneless chicken- 1/2 cup (Cut into thin strips)
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1 teaspoon
- Onion- 1/2 cup (Thinly slices)
- Green chilli- 1 finely chopped
- Chickpea flour(Besan)- 4 tablespoons (As required)
- Rice flour or corn flour- 2-3 tablespoons
- Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper- 1/3 teaspoon
- Garam masala- 1/3 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder- 1/3 teaspoon
- Carom seeds- 1/3 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds- 1/3 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice- few drops
- Coriander leaves- 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped
- Oil- for deep frying
Method
1.In a bowl add chicken cubes and chopped onions.
Add ginger garlic paste, chopped coriander leaves and all the spices.
Add rice flour and besan to it and add salt to taste. Now mix everything well until well combined.
Do not add any water, just mix with your hands and make a batter. The moisture of chicken and onions is enough to make a batter. If its too dry then add little water and mix the batter.
Heat oil in a kadhai. Wet your hands and take small dollops of pakoda, make a smooth ball and gently drop it in the oil and fry on low to medium flame till it turns golden brown.
Chicken pakodas are ready, serve hot with ketchup, chutney or your favorite dips
