Chicken Frankie Roll

Ingredients for dough
- All purpose flour (Maida)- 1 cup
- Wheat flour-1 cup
- Carom seeds- 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion seeds- 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt- 1 teaspoon or as per taste
- Oil- 1 tablespoon
- Water- 1 cup or as required
Ingredients for filling
- Eggs- 3-4
- Chicken boneless- 1 cup cut into cubes (300 gms approx)
- Onion- 1 chopped
- Onion-1 cut into rings
- Tomatoes- 1 chopped
- Green chillies- 2
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1 teaspoon
- Tomato ketchup-1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder- 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Chat masala- 1 teaspoon
- Plain vinegar- 1 tablespoon
- Oil- 1-2 tablespoon
Method
Step 1
In a deep bowl add all purpose flour (maida), wheat flour, salt, carom seeds, onion seeds, oil and mix it well. Knead it by adding sufficient amount of water into a soft dough.
Cover the dough and keep it resting for 5-10 minutes.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix onion rings with vinegar and green chillies.
Beat the eggs and add salt to it. Keep it aside.
Step3
In a kadhai or pan heat oil and fry the onions until light brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and continue to saute it for 2 minutes.
Add tomatoes and a pinch of salt and cook it for another 2-3 minutes.
Add all the spices and saute it well. Add chicken pieces and cook till it becomes white. Add salt to taste and cook it covered for 10 minutes on medium heat.
Open the lid and add tomato ketchup. Mix it well and switch off the gas.
Step 4
Divide the dough into 5-6 equal parts and roll out each into a thin roti. Make sure the edges are thin and roast it in a hot tawa or pan from both the sides. Roast all the rotis and keep them in a plate.
Now add little oil in a same tawa and pour some egg mixture and spread it well. Now put one roti over it and press it gently. Then flip it over and add little oil and cook it well.
Step 5
Place the roti with the egg side up on a serving plate. Spread the onion rings infused with vinegar and chillies in the centre. Place the chicken mixture on it, sprinkle some chat masala and roll it tightly. Serve hot.
